May 7, 2025 - Inflation Panic!

I think the price up of living in Japan is one of the tremendous problems. I was a child when tax were first raised. So I didn't think it seriously. But now, I'm amazed when I go to shopping. I often go to 100yen shops, and they are liars. I have to pay 110 yen to buy something that costs 100 yen. The name of the store must be changed to “more than 100 yen” store. And there are so many things that are not 100 yen. Why 500 yen item sold at a 100 yen shops? If the things is good price, I am willing to buy it. But if the price is higher than product quality, I am not convinced.

Recently, I often feel that way about sweets and fast food. It was bigger, it was a bag full of them. I feel that way. It appears that the Shrinkflation of snacks in Japan has been passed on to the rest of the world. Takenoko and Kinoko shoots are discussed in this page.

It can't be helped, but we will never again have the margin at that time.🙃

  1. One think you will not believe is that Eel used to only be 500 yen for one piece! Now its like 2500!! But that is not so much about inflation, but the supply. Still, life would be better if I were rich! For sure!!

  2. It's sad that even small pleasures, like snacks, are shrinking in size while the price goes up...😭
